Richard Legge
Born and raised in New England, Rick has been creating art since childhood. He studied Painting at Massachusetts Collage of Art and Design.
"The voyeuristic perspective in my artwork captures the emotional tension between isolation and connection, shaped by my reflections in the wake of 9-11. Observing life from elevated viewpoints, such as windows or bridges, I create a sense of detachment that emphasizes physical and emotional distance. At the same time, my curiosity about human behavior fosters a sense of connection.
The focus on patterns, shadows and interactions highlights the subtle links between individuals and their shared environments. For example, the long shadows in my work symbolize the invisible threads that connect people, even in moments of isolation, This duality, distance and intimacy, makes my art a poignant exploration of the fragility and resilience of human relationships in a changed world."
