Peter Zecher Works Biography

Peter Zecher was a California sculptor who worked in several media, including steel, cardboard, wood and plastic. A native of Oakland, Zecher earned his fine arts degree at UC Berkeley and set up his studio in Los Angeles. He was known for bending geometry to his artistic imagination, creating free-standing floor sculptures, floating constructions and small table-top pieces. He staged solo exhibitions at such galleries as Zero One, Newspace, Rido Mizuno, Nicholas Wilder and Eugenia Butler in the Los Angeles area and at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. His work has also been displayed in Oakland, Sacramento, Fresno, Laguna Beach and San Diego. Zecher was one of the first artists to set up studio space in Los Angeles’ downtown loft district
