Quote
"When I paint and think about paintings, I think about dreams, and what it feels like to be in a dream; the painting is felt through this lens. Both are a place where we surrender to a strange mode of existence made up of our hopes and fears, curiosities, pain, and love. The subjects we find there are pieces of our own psyche; from them we learn to see others in ourselves, and ourselves in others.'

Noah Buchanan

Noah's work is based in the academic tradition of the figure, and favors themes of the mythic, symbolic and heroic. He is primarily interested in depicting the human figure as an anatomical event, which houses the spirit of the human condition. He is also intrigued by the spiritual force implied in painting sweeping landscapes as well as the dark, somber mood of the Spanish tradition of still life painting.
